Anyways, I made glitter brushes because I draw glitter too often and spend too much time on it. I'll share them with everyone else cause maybe you'll find them useful. Or maybe not. I might make other brushes for other more obnoxious tasks in the future.

Whoa! Hiya!! Kekiiro here with a very major update for the Newgrounds Summer Fest this year!

Panel Schedule

It's now time to have a big big reveal. I present the Newgrounds Summer Fest 2023 schedule!

All times are in EST.

This year we've got a wonderful lineup of guests and panelists, including @Bleak-Creep, @RickSteubens, @Jack, @milkyace, @stradomyre, @SrPelo, and the very silly @ninjamuffin99 !

We also have the return of the character design battle hosted by @Cubesona and @Oolongearlgrey! Yay!

For some extra fun we will be hosting the Summer Games in collaboration with the besties over in the Newgrounds Podcast next month! We'll be playing a fun list of games so be sure to check it out! ^-^

The games were held on August 11th-13th. They were fun.

Hiya! The stream ended a little bit ago, so it’s now my time to summarize it all here and link it.

In regards to Summer Fest! I’ll be posting the full schedule within the next week or two. I’m really excited for all of our panels this year and I hope everyone loves them too. :D 

On top of this we will also be doing the Summer Games with the NG Podcast besties at the end of July! A list of games we’re looking at doing are as follows; Minecraft Hunger Games, LoL Aram, Kitten Cannon, CS:GO, Among Us, Chess, Poker, and Scrabble/Letter League.

Hiya! Thank you guys for being so patient with me. I am sorry that this has taken so long to sort out. We’re done going through everyone's entries and are finally ready to announce the winners of the short story contest. ;^; The announcement will take place Friday, the 19th @ 11AM EST during a small stream on our YouTube. Alongside this stream, we will also be announcing some important info regarding the summer fest being hosted this August and other events leading up to it.

Hiya! It's Kekiiro here. I want to give a brief update on the writing contest, as it ended on the 15th. I am super happy to see everyone's entries! There were a lot, 77 to be exact, which is a little bit more than I had initially expected. To be sure that every story is read thoroughly and that we aren't rushing through them, I am going to push back the initial time I had expected to be able to announce the results. Everyone put a lot of effort into these stories, and I do not want to throw that effort away because of an arbitrary deadline I gave myself and the judges.

Please be patient over the next couple of weeks while we go through and score everyone's work. I will announce the winners as soon as I can. Thank you. ^-^

In the mean time, if you'd like to read the entries made as well, the thread is here. There are a lot of stories that I absolutely adore so far.

Next, since I'm on the topic of reading, I'd like to bring up that I'm trying really, really hard to start up a Book Club within the NG Fests server. Moving forward with it, each month, we'll read from a selection of three books voted on in a small poll from the previous. This includes novels, comics, graphic novels, and most anything. If you're interested in the book club, please let me know.

Hiya besties! It’s Kekiiro and @Slimygoo again! We’re back here to remind you all that spring will soon be upon us. With spring comes winds, rain, and other various impending disasters… and, best of all, a very cool and new contest! 

I am announcing the Newgrounds Festivals Short Story Contest! This contest is open to anyone, so you don’t have to be within the festivals server to join. So long as you have a Newgrounds account and can post to the BBS, you’re good. ^-^

To participate, write a story of up to 5,000 words! It can be about almost anything… 

There are a few rules to keep in mind: 

First up, your entry must be completely original. This means you cannot include characters from any pre-existing series that you did not make. For example! Fanfic with your FnF OC or your favorite Doctor Who companion is not a valid entry. As cool and amazing as it may be, I won’t read it.

Second, there is one entry allowed per person. You may collab on a story with someone. However, that counts as one entry for both of you.

Third, all entries must be SFW. This means if you would rate it with an M or above, do not submit it.

Entries are due on the 15th of April. Please post your entry to this Very Cool Thread that I have made! Let us all be together, there.

There are Prizes! Yay!

Hiya everyone! It’s Kekiiro, I’m here with the very first patch notes for the Newgrounds Festivals this year!

These past few years with everyone have been wonderful and it’s something that mine bestie (@Slimygoo) and I really want to continue. I hope you all will continue to be a little bit patient with us as we work to prepare this upcoming year for everyone. We have some very cool things in store. Things like a summer festival in August, or a silly little writing contest this coming spring… :3c

With that said, let’s get into it!

Announcing the Summer Festival

Today I am officially announcing that the Newgrounds Summer Festival is slated to happen during the weekend of August 25th! Just like before, the programming will start on Friday night, and close out the following Sunday. The event will be formally hosted in the Festivals Discord server - and streamed on our Youtube channel. Regardless of where you watch, you’ll be able to participate. ^-^

As in previous years, due to the range of content being featured and for the safety of users, the event Discord will continue to only be accessible to users that are 18 years of age or older. Age verification is required to join the server.

If you are unable to access the Discord, despair not! Our Youtube livestream will be an option at the time of the event. The chat will be monitored by staff so participation in various events will still be possible - so don’t worry about being left out. ^-^

If you’re looking to host a panel this year and have a super super cool and amazing idea, the time to apply is now! Just like previous years panels can be anything from community events, to workshops, a history lesson. Perhaps even a silly little dancing cat telling us all lies about the world…

Volunteer Staff

This has and will always be a community event! As such, it makes sense that the staffers are those from the community. We’re looking for a team of staff who can help things flow nicely. The Summer Festivals Staff Application is now currently open for volunteers! If you have experience working conventions or other such events - or even if you don’t and just want to get involved, this could be for you! As long as you have a love for Newgrounds and the community, everything will be fine. :D 

The responsibilities of volunteers are varied, and can include things such as chat moderation and helping to ensure panelists are set and ready for stream time. You may even be asked to assist with a panel, such as gathering questions from the Youtube live stream during Q&A sections. 

You must be 21 or older to staff the event.

Summer Festival Animation Project!

Do you wanna collaborate with us on a fun little animation to open the Summer Festival? 

As in the last two festivals, we will be continuing the tradition of having an opening animation. It’s something that’s fun and shows everyone together. Kinda like a big big photo but instead of a photo it’s actually a video… anyways. This project will be worked on over the summer leading into August. More details will be available to those selected. ^-^

If you’re interested, please send me a DM to state your interest with the subject “Newgrounds Summer Festival Project” alongside a few links to some of what you consider to be your best works and an indication of what you would like to contribute! (animation, backgrounds, etc.)

We’ll review what you send to see if it’ll be a good fit. Everyone is welcome to apply! Just believe in yourself. ^-^

Gamdev Showcase

Do you have…videogame? Do you want to share it? The NG Summer Festival will be accepting applicants for a Gamedev showcase! We’re looking for titles that are along enough in development to have trailers or short gameplay demos to be shown during the event! These games can be hosted on the site or for commercial release! All are welcome, as long as it’s a game. :>

Recently released games are also good to go! So bring everything you’ve got! Unless it’s a moba. I will laugh at you. And then cry.

Games must be suitable and compliant with both the NG and Discord TOS. 

NSFW games are welcome to apply as well, however these will be shown in a separate showcase during the after hours features instead.

OKAY! So that's all for these patch notes! Within the next few months I'll have something with a little more substance for you all. I hope things brings a little light to the silly plots though.
